Comprehensive Safari Travelling Equipment

After being busy all year, most people would love to get away from civilization and spend their vacations in a totally new environment to relax and forget all their troubles. The Maasai Mara National Reserve offers such relaxation.

The reserve is located in Narok in Kenya, and it's very close to the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. This reserve is special because it is known worldwide for The Great Migration where gazelles, zebras and wildebeests migrate from The Maasai Mara to the Serengeti across the Mara River. There are a couple of items that one should carry when going to such a place. The area is mostly warm most of the year, so one needs to carry an equal amount of warm and light clothes. Sunscreen lotion is essential to protect one's skin. Hats also come in handy because they can provide shade in the sun and warmth in the cold. Hiking boots should be carried because they are rugged and can be able to handle the terrain with ease. In the event that one will opt to camp outside instead of staying in a hotel, he or she will need a tent, sleeping bags, sleeping pads and the likes.

There are also a number of other things that may come in handy when travelling to such destinations. They include insect repellents, matches, lanterns or flashlights, a first aid kit for emergencies, a poncho, ropes for making a hanging line of clothes, trash bags and for locations where a toilet isn’t provided, a cathole towel will come in handy.

A Taste Of Kenya In Ugali

Kenya is a country where there are very many tribes living together, and over the years each has adopted the eating habits of the other. It is therefore not uncommon to find a meal in Kenya with cooking styles from different corners of the country.
Ugali still remains the number one staple food for the Kenyan people and is popular with all the tribes. Though the consistency and floor combination is different for people living in the different parts the name and the style in which it is cooked is the same. This is an exotic Kenyan dish that is eaten with meaty stews or leafy vegetables as a main meal. In popular restaurants like the ones in Nairobi, ugali is served with game meat and soups from around the world. There is no denying that a meal of ugali is not only delicious but satisfying. Your visit to Kenya is incomplete if you have not had a serving of ugali and roast goat meat.

The flour composition is left to individual choice because different people wish to draw certain benefits from various foods. The nature of ugali cooked can be varied to suit the meal type being prepared. A breakfast meal for example can be made from plain maize meal flour because it will be accompanied by a hot beverage. If ugali is being prepared for lunch or dinner it is mixed with either cassava or millet to make it a heavy meal. Maize in Kenya from which ugali is made can be referred to as the country’s staple food because a lot of other dishes are made from it in various forms.

Equipment Needed When Camping

As days go by, camping is gaining a lot of popularity. More and more people are going to camp in remote locations for various reasons.

There are areas with large places where some go to unwind, some go to build unity amongst them for example team building activities among employees while some go to get away from the hassle and bustle of cities and civilization and enjoy the serene environment in its natural state. A place like this is the Tsavo West National Park in Kenya. Failure to carry everything necessary for camping may cause one to have serious problems. Gear for camping should be small items that have multiple uses to minimize the amount of luggage one has but at the same time one should not lack anything.

For example a pen knife can double up as a scarf, a pen knife can double up as a tin opener and a big handkerchief can double up as a water filter. Some of the most essential supplies one should have are a tent, clothes to change into, water purifier, toiletries like bathing soap, toilet paper, toothpaste and such, a penknife that can double up as a can opener, a stove to cook and some food.
A sleeping pad may also come in handy. It is simply a type of mat used in conjunction with a sleeping bag for extra comfort and thermal insulation. It is advisable to make a list of all the things one will need during their camp to ensure that one has all the necessary supplies.
