Africa On The Front Line Of Technology

Most African countries have wildlife and an attractive landscape that is the inviting features for both local and international tourists. The use of travel tech enables joint marketing of the entire region to tourists. It helps to consolidate into one place from where the effective comparison can be done.

The role of a travel agent in tourism has always been to book your flights and give you a ticket on the specific day you want to travel. This had worked well for many tourists until the advent of the mobile apps which is more centralized and easy to use. Africa is slowly grasping the aspect of technological contributions to e-tourism because it is bound to change the whole tourism scenario at an individual level. Previously all that the computer contributed to tourism was a filing system for saving files and sending thank you emails for hotel guests for reviews.

The use of travel tech appliances brings together all tourist vendors in one location and can planning then can be done from there. This is a good way for travelers identify their tourist needs according to how many destinations they have toured and how many more are in their interest to know. As a good tourist timing is everything because it helps you get enough rest and the opportunity to see that which you desire to see. Technology has now made travelling much easier because it's now more possible than ever to arrange for round trips around the continent and chase boredom by listening to music from your cell phone all through the flight. Countries like Kenya and South Africa continue to succeed in this business because they have embraced the use of e-tourism to market their destinations.

Equipment Needed When Camping

As days go by, camping is gaining a lot of popularity. More and more people are going to camp in remote locations for various reasons.

There are areas with large places where some go to unwind, some go to build unity amongst them for example team building activities among employees while some go to get away from the hassle and bustle of cities and civilization and enjoy the serene environment in its natural state. A place like this is the Tsavo West National Park in Kenya. Failure to carry everything necessary for camping may cause one to have serious problems. Gear for camping should be small items that have multiple uses to minimize the amount of luggage one has but at the same time one should not lack anything.

For example a pen knife can double up as a scarf, a pen knife can double up as a tin opener and a big handkerchief can double up as a water filter. Some of the most essential supplies one should have are a tent, clothes to change into, water purifier, toiletries like bathing soap, toilet paper, toothpaste and such, a penknife that can double up as a can opener, a stove to cook and some food.
A sleeping pad may also come in handy. It is simply a type of mat used in conjunction with a sleeping bag for extra comfort and thermal insulation. It is advisable to make a list of all the things one will need during their camp to ensure that one has all the necessary supplies.

African Bushmen Tribe, Art and Craft

There are actually many African tribes that are present until now. These tribes thrive to survive in the desert plains of the African continent. One of these tribes that survive until the present day is the Bushmen or San. They are located in the Southern Africa.

If you remember the series of movies ‘The Gods Must Be Crazy’, you have found a San tribe there. In fact, the main character there is a Bushman. In the movies, the daily life of the tribe of the Bushmen is depicted. Their crafts to make spears and arrows are notable as well as their rock arts. It is because they are hunters and gatherers. Their skills are very excellent. No wonder their tribes survive for thousands of years (20,000 years). Plus, their way of living is amazing for them to live in the desert without money, without proper clothes, without transportations and without proper houses. The languages used are usually clicking of tongues and other sounds. In writing, they usually use the exclamation points (!) and slashes (/).

Their problem is that their homelands are used for the cattle herding of the Bantu tribes. This problem has existed since almost a couple of thousands of years ago. And the problem is added by white men who are colonists. You may also find this out through ‘The Gods Must Be Crazy’ movies. There is the untold story of the genocide, discrimination and oppression on them. Others are persecuted without any crimes. And so, their population is reduced to merely a hundred thousand only instead of over a million.

Golden Gate Bridge, California

The Golden Gate Bridge is one of the internationally most renowned and most photographed bridges. It is the suspension bridge that connects San Francisco city/peninsula to Marin County, California. It has a 6-lane highway, 746 ft high, with the total length of 8,981 ft (2.7 km) and 90 ft wide.
The Golden Gate Bridge had originally the estimated cost of $100 M. The design was made because of Joseph Strauss’s thesis to design an 89 km-long railroad bridge, which was supposedly across the Bering Strait at the time, in the year 1916. He completed inland bridges of about 400 draw bridges though. Later, after some inputs from the consulting project experts, he promised that he could build the bridge for only $17 M. He spent 10 years of asking the support of the Northern California to realize the building of the bridge. Then, it was considered as practically, a suspension bridge was needed. The official name of the bridge was changed into ‘Golden Bridge and Highway District’ in 1923 by the Act of the state legislature. It opened on May 27, 1937.
If you wish to make a trip to this well-known bridge and the Golden Gate National Park, you might as well check the toll rates ($6 for southbound cars, $5 fast track, $3 for carpools at peak hours, for fast track only), how to pay the toll fees, background history of the bridge, other visitor's experience (their photos, merchandise and tours), the sidewalk hour schedules for bicyclists and pedestrians, the directions, transit, parking, weather, and the virtual bridge tour and the photo gallery.
