The Milwaukee Art Museum: Quadracci Pavilion

If you are interested to check out the boldest, most spectacular and the most beautiful progressive summation of Wisconsin, you can find it in the presence of Quadracci Pavilion. It was originally the first art gallery (1888) in Milwaukee. This is located on Lake Michigan, Milwaukee, in the Wisconsin state.

This Milwaukee Art Museum (MAM) is designed by Santiago Calatrava (through Graef Milwaukee-based engineering firm) that includes Reiman Bridge, War Memorial Center, Kahler Building and the Quadracci Pavilion. It has 90 ft high, 341,000 sq-ft, with glass walled reception hall, movable (up and down) sunscreen (217 ft wingspan during the day), with over forty (40) galleries, with more than 35,000 artworks on four (4) floors that include the 17th to 20th century American and 15th to the 20th century European prints, paintings, sculptures, photographs, drawings, decorative arts, and self-taught and folk arts, and one of the best American Museums in the country.

The artists included are Pablo Picasso, Frank Lloyd Wright, Auguste Rodin, Francisco de Zurbaran, Nardo di Cione, Robert Gober, Claude Monet, Joan Miro, Edgar Degas, Jean-Honeore Fragonard, Andy Warhol, Mark Rothko, Winslow Homer, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Jan Swart Van Groningen, Jan Goyen, Francesco Botticini, Franz Von Lenbach (‘Bavarian Girl’), Hendrick Van Vliet, Ferdinand Bol, Ferdinand Waldmuller (‘Interruption’), Christian Bokelman (‘Broken Bank’), Gustave Caillebotte, Bougereau, Camille Pissarro, Gerome (‘2 Majesties’), Max Pechstein, Alfred Kowalski (‘Winter in Russia’), Carl Spitzweg, and Jules Bastien-Lepage (‘The Wood Gatherer’), as well as Georgia O’Keeffe, a Wisconsin native. In addition, the museum has already held American Idol auditions in the year 2010.

I am Pursuing My Dreams

My Most Precious and Magical Family Moment

My sister’s wedding is one of the most unforgettable moments of my life. Because of this, I was able to see a clear outlook to the building process of a family. This was also one of the times where we gathered as a whole clan to celebrate the coming of a new member in the family.

For my sister’s bachelorette party, I was given the chance to sing one piece for her. Because of this, I practiced so hard so that I can cheer up my sister and light up a smile on her face. So I was busy setting up all the things I need for the performance. The only problem was that we didn’t have a PA system that I can use. Good thing there were available fender pa speakers at guitar center. This made it possible for me to leave a piece of me with my sister on her special day.

Martha’s little helpers

Martha pulled out a bundle of burlap curtains from a box. We started hanging them in her living room. Her great new Living room was all brand new except for the sofa that was from our grandmother. Martha is my dearest and oldest friend, so when she finally bought a house I volunteered to design her new Home and a couple of our friends helped out.

It was going to be a great house. The price was a bit steep for my taste and budget but still the opulence of the neighborhood is what the overpricing was all about. Martha could definitely afford the luxury being the first lady country manager of Dell she definitely deserved this.

She was so glad her girls were there to help her out with the move in and designing, because what Martha had corporate plethora, she lacked in homemaking abilities.

How Chocolates Came To Be

What would the world be without chocolates? Imagine that. If it weren’t for the creation of chocolate, the world would be cold, boring, and meaningless because chocolate is one of the reasons that the world is a sweet place to live in. For many, it gave meaning to life. When you are down in Dumpster's, you can hide away with a box of chocolates. If you are up in the mood for a celebration, chocolates can make you high. When you are in love, an outward expression can be given chocolates. Clearly, the world is a better place to live in thanks to chocolate.

But have you ever wondered where chocolate really originated? Belgium is known across the world to have produced the most delicious chocolates. But did it start there? As far as history takes you, it actually came from Mexico dating back to 1100 BC. Cacao trees have been cultivated in Mexico, Central America and Northern South America for almost 3 millennia already. It was known to be Nahuatl to the Mesoamericans including the Aztecs which meant bitter water. Cacao seeds are so bitter that you need to ferment it before it is dry, peeled, and finally grounded. This is what you refer to as chocolate in its pure form. This is then usually put into a liquefied form and molded with or without the use of other ingredients. This has become a beverage or an ingredient to food for the Mesoamericans.

But the Europeans put another kick into it. They sweetened and fattened it by using sugar and milk. Mesoamericans were not aware of such. Rather than drinking it or using it as an ingredient, they tagged it as a dessert. And that is a short history of how the chocolate came to be.
