Linguistic And Natural Diversity In Brazil

Brazil is the largest country in South America and the home to the largest Portuguese speaking population in the world. The Amazon Rain Forest and Amazon River represent some of the most amazing and important natural contributions to world heritage to be found on Earth.

The Portuguese language is a very important part of culture in Brazil since it sets the country apart from its many Spanish speaking neighbors throughout the rest of South America and Latin America. There are also 180 recognized indigenous languages spoken throughout the country. There is also a strong deaf community in Brazil that uses Brazilian Sign Language, or LIBRAS, to communicate. Brazil has some of the strongest laws for the protection of Deaf rights in the world including inclusion of deaf people through interpreters into all levels of government and social infrastructure, especially education.

There is incredible biodiversity in Brazil thanks to the Amazon Rain Forest’s habitat and natural surroundings. The Amazon is home to many endangered and rare species that cannot be found anywhere else on Earth. This applies to both plant and animal life. Contributions to world heritage from the Amazon region of Brazil include the development of many important medicines from natural plant sources that can solely be found in this rain forest. International groups, including the United Nations, have made a massive effort in recent years to prevent the destruction of plant and animal life as well as important habitats throughout the Amazon. In addition to being a part of world heritage, this region contributes extensively to the modern economy of Brazil because of its agricultural potential.

Experience Fufu The Nigerian Style

The roots of the Nigerian cuisine have a come a long way from the ancient times when food preparation was related to traditions, culture and artwork. In spite of the fact that the Nigerians have had foreign influence it has not significantly affected the exotic cuisines in any way.

If you come across a Nigerian living in a foreign country you will realize that most ancient foods they prepare have a twist of the exotic. A perfect example of how food carried to other parts of the world is the Nigerian fufu made by the ancient American slaves. The main reason for variations in preparation methods has been the availability of the required exotic ingredients. The ancient Nigerian people had grain based meals and most of their food was made from starch. A wide range of flours is available from millet, teff, sorghum, cassava and barley from which nutritious porridges are made.

You can see a hint of Europe in the food that is eaten in Nigeria in the recent past as compared to that which was eaten a few decades back. The use of pepper, peanuts and corn to prepare food is a borrowed aspect of the European cuisine into Nigeria. Although there is no community among the four which coexist together in Nigeria that can boast of producing the national cuisine chili sea foods as a general rule are appreciated in all Nigeria and are served in many hotels in Lagos. The use of marinate as a method of preparing food is very common in this country and gives food the much needed flavor.

Native American Culture

Native American tribes are also many. They were many indigenous people who were usually located on the North American lands.

Some of these known tribes are Cherokee, Apache, Iroquois, Navajo, Sioux and Cheyenne. And aside from these, there are still other tribes that compose the Native Americans. During the World War II, some of the Navajo people are used as ‘Windtalkers’ in the movie, which stars Nicolas Cage, Adam Beach and many more. Their language is used in the movie to defeat the Americans’ enemies. As it is, their communications are always intercepted because Japanese and other allies know the American English language. Therefore, the Navajo language is used for communication purposes.

The Native American culture is wide and vast. They have sun dances to pray to the god of the sun to give them abundantly, war dances to let them be victorious, marriage gathering, marriage rules and restrictions, tepees, pipes, totem poles, moccasins, peace and so forth. For example in marriage rules and restrictions. The wives are separated from their husbands during their monthly cycle. In marriage gathering, all the people in the tribe are invited and share food, wine and dance until dawn. Their teepees are movable as Native Americans are like gypsies. They transfer their homes with them as they look for the abundance of food and water the depends on the different seasons. The Native American War was always constant in the years of the early settlers of Great Britain come to the Americas. They were the source of mishaps and conflicts as well as discrimination and oppression.

Unique Features Of Australia

Australia is a very unique island nation located between the southern Pacific Ocean and the eastern Indian Ocean. The Commonwealth of Australia owes its formation to the colonial influence of the United Kingdom and its unique culture to the native peoples of the island.

On a cultural level, Australia is indeed a unique country. Historians and scientists have found that the indigenous peoples of Australia were living on the island for about 40,000 years before the first European settlers ever established colonies there towards the end of the 18th century. There were an estimated 250 different language groups on the island at the time when Dutch explorers first arrived there in 1606. An English penal colony was established in the region of New South Wales until January of 1788. After that, the entire island was explored by settlers and eventually the Commonwealth of Australia was formed in 1901.

Multiculturalism is an important part of modern Australia and is promoted by the government. There is a considerable population of indigenous people still living on the island. They mostly represent the Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders. Although much of the culture of modern Australia is rooted in Western influence, local traditions and art are still appreciated and many artists in the late 20th and early 21st centuries have been working to develop art forms influenced by the natural landscape and ancient customs of Australia through the Contemporary Indigenous Australian art movement. When it comes to sports, Australia contributes to world heritage by promoting and excelling at international sports such as rugby, cricket, and swimming.
